November 1: AFSP's Out of the Darkness Community Walk
St. Louis, Missouri

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a 3-5 mile scenic walk taking place at Creve Coeur Park (Tremayne Pavillion) and in more than 100 communities across the country this fall. Proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs — both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide. November 17: Signs Of Suicide® (SOS) Training
Kansas City, Missouri

This free training on the Signs Of Suicide® (SOS) suicide prevention program for middle and high schools is being sponsored by CHADS Coalition and Screening for Mental Health, Inc. November 21: National Survivor of Suicide Day
Nationwide

The eleventh annual National Survivors of Suicide Day will connect survivors from across the country through a live national satellite and Internet broadcast, allowing survivors to share their experiences of loss. Visit the AFSP website to learn how to organize a local conference.

 


MAY 2010

May 21 & 22: Suicide Bereavement Support Groups facilitator training
St. Louis, Missouri

AFSP offers a comprehensive hands-on training program to help survivors of suicide loss learn the "how-to's" of creating and facilitating a support group. The two-day program combines lecture, interactive discussion and role-playing with feedback. Visit the AFSP website for details.

July 29 & 30: Show Me You Care About Suicide Prevention Conference
Jefferson City, Missouri

SAVE THE DATE: The 5th Annual Missouri Suicide Prevention Conference will be held on Thursday, July 29th followed by a half-day of workshops on Friday, July 30th. Additional details will be posted soon.
