Research
Research at MPC is under the direction of John G. Csernansky, M.D. Dr. Csernansky is the Gregory B. Couch Professor of Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine.
Clinical Neurobiology: In collaboration with radiologists, neuro-anatomists and biomedical engineers from Washington University, we are examining brain structure images for biological variation. We hope to use the shape analysis of brain structures as a diagnostic tool in schizophrenia and other severe neuropsychiatric disorders.
Clinical Trials: Developing new and more effective treatments for schizophrenia begins with controlled clinical trials. We conduct trials with investigative medicines to better understand their efficacy and side effects.
Teaching: Our research is widely published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Recent articles can be found in Archives of General Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry, Behavioral Brain Research, Psychiatry Research, Psychopharmacology, Schizophrenia Research and Radiology.
